Class Descriptions
Infant Parent Aquatic Program - IPAP is a begininer class to get their faces in the water! It will be taught in the water, in the shallow end of the pool or on the step. This class is mainly water orientation and will include: teaching to blow bubbles and support floating and saftey. Children are encouraged, but not forced to do anything. The class is not a rigidly structured classes it consists mainly of games and some free time witht their guardian. The class helps the child to know the limits as well as the fun of the water. Prerequistite: Parent should be prepared to get in the water with the child for the entire length of the class. This class will be held in 30 minute increments, Monday thru Thursday for 2 weeks.
Level 1 - This is a beginner class teaching water adjustment, breath holding, blowing bubbles, front and back floating, kicking and saftey in the water. Advance students will work on glide kicking, underwater swimmingand the front crawl. Games and water exporation will also be included. Prerequisites: Hold breath, blow bubbles and putting their face in the water. This class will be held in 50 minute incrememnts, Monday thru Thursday for 2 weeks.
Level 2 - This class emphasizes more pratice in those skills learned in LEVEL 1 as well as working on the front crawl and underwater swimming. Breathing and body turnover are introduced along with breathing strategies, jumping in, back glide, survival floating and advance saftey skills. Prerequisites: Hold breath for a count of 10, front/back floating, blow bubbles and jumping in the water. (Some support on the back floating is acceptable) This class is not for those children with fear of the water. This class will be held in 50 minute increments, Monday thru Thursday for 2 weeks.
Semi-Private:
Another great way to learn and get personal attention, but share the fun and the cost. Sign up for semi-private lessons!! Taught in groups of two, the lessons will focus on what the group and individuals desire to learn.
Private Lessons - These classes are for those children that will benefit in a one on one situation. The current level of the students swimming abilities will be assessed ad the content of the classes will then be determined. These classes are offered in 30 minute increments, Monday thru Thursday for 2 weeks.
Levels 3 and 4 are also available for private or semi-private lessons.
Child must be at least 3 to participate in a group lesson (Level 1 and Level 2)
1. Select appropriate class and age level
2. Submit registration form along with appropriate payment to the front desk. Your payment and selected class will then be recorded.
3. Show up at the Nautilus swimming pool on the first day of your registered class.
4. Class are scheduled for 3 or more students. If less than 3 students sign up, you have the option of changing to a class scheduled for a different time, date OR changing the scheduled lesson to a private lesson and paying the difference.
